Position Overview
Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is supporting a healthcare organization seeking a Laboratory Specimen Processor to support daily laboratory operations. This role is responsible for the accurate handling, preparation, processing, tracking, and documentation of laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and other body fluid samples.
The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, process, and handle laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and other biological samples.
Verify specimen containers, labeling requirements, and documentation accuracy.
Prepare specimens for testing by:
Centrifuging samples
Storing specimens at appropriate temperatures
Preparing samples for shipment when needed
Maintain accurate specimen tracking and inventory documentation.
Enter specimen information and patient data into laboratory computer systems.
Monitor specimen integrity and resolve identification or processing issues.
Maintain knowledge of specimen requirements and laboratory procedures.
Ensure laboratory automation equipment is functioning properly.
Follow all applicable safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
Support daily laboratory operations while meeting turnaround times and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience required.
Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
Comfortable working with biological specimens in a laboratory environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience in specimen processing, accessioning, or clinical laboratory operations.
Strong computer skills and experience using laboratory systems.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Comfortable using electronic tools, applications, and laboratory software.
Opportunity Details
Location: Needham Heights, MA
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 3 days per week
Assignment: 07/27/2026 – 10/30/2026
Interview Process: In-person interview preferred, including laboratory tour
Work Setting: Onsite laboratory only (no travel required)
Dress Code Restrictions:
No hoodies, logo T-shirts, ripped jeans, open-toed shoes/Crocs, shorts, camisoles, or tank tops.
Pay Details: $17.00 to $21.00 per hour
