Forklift Operator Job Description
Job Title: Forklift Operator
Position Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, stack, load, and unload products and materials. This role supports warehouse, manufacturing, and distribution operations by ensuring the efficient movement of inventory while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
Move materials and products throughout the warehouse, production floor, or storage areas.
Stack, stage, and organize inventory in designated locations.
Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate records of materials moved.
Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Verify product quantities and inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies.
Assist with receiving, shipping, picking, packing, and order fulfillment activities as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety requirements.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily productivity goals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory procedures, and material handling practices.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing, or outdoor environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
Ability to operate equipment safely for extended periods.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Pay Details: $19.00 per hour
