Controller
Accounting & Finance
Our client is a well-known food manufacturer with plants in NY and NJ. Due to growth, seeking a Controller to join the Finance Department. Primary responsibilities include:
Lead plant accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, GAAP compliance, internal controls, and effective collaboration with Plant Managers and department leadership.
Manage standard costing, BOM analysis, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance reporting to improve cost accuracy and plant profitability.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, forecasts, profitability analyses, and executive reports supporting strategic business decisions.
Oversee general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, collections, credit approvals, promotion accruals, and financial data integrity.
Validate inventory through cycle counts, physical inventories, workflow audits, and internal control reviews to safeguard company assets.
Partner with operations, engineering, supply chain, sales, finance, and IT to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational performance.
Support internal and external audits, train staff on internal controls, lead special projects, and recommend continuous process improvements across the organization.
Position reports to Director of Finance.
Ideal candidates for Controller will possess the following
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or business related
CPA and/or MBA a plus
Knowledge of GAAP & FASB
Proficient with MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
7+ years in a manufacturing environment
Managed accounting & finance staff
Salary up to $120k/yr. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, FSA, etc.
Pay Details: $105,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
