Assembly Technician

A growing aerospace manufacturing company in the Enfield area is seeking a Composite Layup Technician to support the fabrication of advanced composite aircraft components. This role involves working with carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other composite materials in a controlled production environment.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with composite materials, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions while maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibilities
Perform hand layup of composite materials including carbon fiber and fiberglass on precision molds and tooling
Apply composite materials in multiple layers, ensuring smooth placement free of wrinkles, air pockets, or voids
Prepare molds and tooling prior to layup operations
Apply vacuum bagging techniques to prepare parts for autoclave or oven curing processes
Follow detailed manufacturing instructions, drawings, and job travelers
Work within cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments and follow all cleanliness protocols
Utilize production equipment and tools to assist with accurate composite placement
Maintain organized work areas and ensure equipment is properly maintained
Record production information and work completion within internal manufacturing systems
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, supervisors, and team members to support production schedules
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of experience in composite manufacturing, fiberglass work, or related aerospace production preferred
Experience with carbon fiber, fiberglass, epoxy systems, or honeycomb structures is a plus
Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and following safety procedures
Work Environment
Climate-controlled manufacturing facility
Cleanroom production environment
Hands-on assembly and fabrication work
Compliance with safety and export control requirements
Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
