How to Build a CV That Gets Noticed in Saudi Arabia

Reading time 3 minutes

A strong CV is your first impression—and in a competitive market like Saudi Arabia, it can make all the difference. Here's how to build one that aligns with employer expectations:

Keep it clear and ATS-friendly
Recruiters spend only a few seconds scanning your CV. Use a clean format, standard fonts (like Arial or Calibri), and avoid images or graphics that might confuse applicant tracking systems.

Customize your CV for each role
One-size-fits-all CVs don’t work. Highlight skills and keywords from the job description. For example, for a Customer Service Representative role, emphasize communication skills, CRM software experience, and bilingual fluency.

Include essential details
Full name, mobile number, email
Location (city only is fine)
Summary (2-3 lines about your strengths)
Key skills
Work experience (in reverse chronological order)
Education
Languages and certifications

Tailor for local expectations
Employers in Saudi Arabia often look for nationality (for Saudization roles), iqama status (for expats), and industry-specific experience. Be transparent.
