Senior Production Supervisor (Chemical industry, West, Office hours)

The Opportunity:
You’ll lead daily manufacturing operations, driving production, quality, and efficiency while guiding a team of technicians and operators. The role offers hands‑on problem solving, continuous improvement ownership, and involvement in new product introductions, with close collaboration across teams in a strong safety‑focused environment.
The Job:
- Leading and supervising a team of production operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Work closely with production planner to develop and execute production schedules.
- Work closely with warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate issuance of all raw materials to production shop floor.
- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities across various production departments within the Plant (Solvent Production, Acid Production, Distillation - spent recovery) and remote Acid production site.
- Ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing any identified issues promptly.
- Collaborating with production engineers and quality assurance teams to identify and resolve any quality-related issues.
- Collaborating with the facility & maintenance team for preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment problems, and ensuring minimal downtime through effective maintenance strategies.
- Monitoring and managing production operational costs, including labour, materials, and utilities, to optimize efficiency and profitability. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality or safety.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and communication across departments as required.
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) across production, quality, safety, and efficiency metrics.
- Engage in ISO compliance and customer audit processes and ensure timely follow-up to close any identified findings.
- Support 8D and MOC report preparation, safety-related investigations, and follow up on assigned action items.
- Responsible for generating production reports in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to support presentations, performance reviews and management reporting.
- Responsible for supporting and managing indirect production activities, such as waste management, packaging and dip-tube cleaning, and the execution of small-scale projects.
The Talent:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field /or similar discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production supervision, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, or related manufacturing industries.
- Strong organization, administrative and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices
- Candidates with relevant experience in warehousing or logistics may be considered even without the stated academic qualifications.
- Be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Responding to Emergencies in the Workplace.
- Ability to be exposed to various chemicals and compounds including fumes and smells [Hazardous chemicals].
