Supplying Two Specialist Candidates for A Pharmaceutical Consulting Firm
See how Adecco’s expertise and infrastructure helped a small business employ two permanent qualified RPs (Responsible Persons) to support critical business functions.

About The Client
Our client is an SME consulting firm based in Ireland specialising in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance. They seek to support clients with global regulatory and quality strategies.
The Challenge
In 2023, the client approached Adecco to help source additional qualified RPs. Having recently expanded their client portfolio, they needed a recruitment partner who could quickly supply these business-critical permanent roles.
The client initially contacted us through a former Adecco candidate they now employ. After our contact recommended our ability to support small businesses with specialist and niche hiring, the client decided to partner with us.
The client had historically struggled to hire qualified RPs, with primary challenges including –
- A lack of an internal talent team and the ability to deliver specialised hiring in-house.
- Limited resources and infrastructure to manage sourcing and headhunting.
- Difficulties in competing with the salaries and benefits offered by larger firms.
The client needed a recruitment partner who could source from a large talent pool and directly target potential candidates. This would include those with transferrable skills or not in active work, as the typical notice period for employed RP specialists was two to three months.
Our Solution
Our team engaged with the client’s stakeholders to better understand their business and the qualities they sought in an ideal candidate. We also confirmed the details of the role and clarified expectations and timescales.
During these discussions, we highlighted Adecco’s approach to recruitment, emphasising the value of our infrastructure, specialised expertise, and established candidate database.
Sourcing and Selection
A key part of our solution was utilising our market knowledge and specialist teams to source potential candidates within suitable geographical regions. To meet the client’s requirements, we approached and contacted talent from similar small pharmaceutical and medical device businesses who had the necessary skills or enough transferrable skills to make them a good fit for the role.
We also targeted talent from companies where onsite work was required, and flexibility was limited, emphasising the benefits of remote work, flexible hours, and career growth opportunities.
To compete with higher salaries, we highlighted the role’s overall value, including flexibility, work-life balance, and a supportive culture. By understanding what mattered most to candidates, we successfully presented our offering as a compelling alternative to higher pay packages.
Targeted Approach
Our targeted approach primarily utilised LinkedIn Recruiter. By directly approaching candidates whose profiles aligned with the skills and experience required, we minimised time spent on unsuitable applications and maximised our chances of engaging high-quality talent.
While the role was advertised across multiple platforms, personalised outreach via LinkedIn proved to be the most effective method for finding and engaging the right candidates.
Outcomes
We successfully place two skilled professionals within six months through robust targeting, clear communication with candidates, and working closely with hiring managers to streamline onboarding.
These timely hires allowed the client to continue their business operations without significant delay or disruption.
Positive feedback was received in relation to both candidates, and the client subsequently employed Adecco to assist with additional hiring needs, with a view to granting us exclusive supplier status in future.
"Thank you for your dedication and professionalism over the last few months to support us in filling this role."
— Client.
Key Results
- Two hires achieved within six months.
- Over 130 candidates processed.
- Eight interviews conducted.
- Positive feedback received from the client for both candidates.
