Case Study: Providing Recruitment Support for an International E-Mobility Client Entering the UK Market
Discover how Adecco offered comprehensive recruitment support—including on-site assessments and compliance expertise—to a global e-mobility provider launching in the UK.

About The Client
Our client is an e-mobility transportation business that operates a fleet of e-scooters across multiple UK locations.
The Challenge
Adecco has worked with the client for over four years as the sole supplier of temporary and permanent workers within the UK.
The client operates a fleet of shared, dockless semi-electric bikes, which customers can hire and ride from UK streetside hubs. This model presents the client with a range of operational challenges, including:
- A need for daily battery and bike maintenance in the face of constant customer use, ensuring all bikes remain in satisfactory condition.
- Monitoring of bike locations to ensure customers are not leaving them in unsafe or untidy locations.
- The ability to collect and redistribute bikes across multiple geographical areas safely and effectively.
- Successfully supplied over 200 workers across multiple UK locations.
- 100% fill rate achieved.
- 5% attrition maintained.
- Operated on-site assessment centres.
- Provided key legal and compliance support.
The client needed a recruitment partner with the experience and infrastructure to support multi-site temporary staffing, including end-to-end sourcing, selection, onboarding, and ongoing management. Beyond this, as an international client, they also needed a partner who could offer robust legal and compliance expertise within the UK.
A global footprint, with intimate knowledge of local sourcing and attraction methods, would be vital in delivering within a tight timescale.
Our Solution
Adecco’s staffing solution for the client involves hiring temporary workers with the option to transition to a permanent contract once their capabilities and performance have been assessed.
A dedicated account manager acts as a single point of contact for the client, ensuring we maintain an in-depth understanding of their needs and can quickly act on queries. We also leverage our teams across the UK to provide local support and regularly engage our national teams to source a wider talent pool.
We have supported the client by placing various essential roles to support their operational model, including City Managers, Team Leaders, Mechanics, Field Operatives, Drivers, and Promotions Associates.
Assessment Centres
A large part of our delivery solution centres around our ability to utilise our extensive UK-wide branch network to run local assessment centres as required.
These centres allow us to meet up to 25 candidates in half-day sessions to screen candidates and assess their practical, personality, and competency suitability.
We also dedicate time at the start of the process to ensure candidates are informed about the client and the prospects each role presents for their career, including the option for roles to go permanent.
On-site Onboarding
We manage the onboarding process from multiple on-site locations to ensure candidate success. This includes a talk on the client and training centred around processes and procedures.
Compliance
Early on, we were able to draw on our considerable expertise relating to local labour laws and regulations to ensure the client remained compliant in the UK market.
This included taking responsibility for background checks and ensuring documentation was taken early in the process for DBS checks to help speed up the process.
Outcomes
Since partnering with the client, we have placed over 200 workers into roles and achieved a 100% fill rate, with only a 5% attrition.
