About The Client

Our client is a leading IT technology consultancy.

The Challenge

In 2021, the client won a contract to implement their market-leading Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system into a local UK healthcare system.

To ensure the successful delivery of this critical digital service, they required specialist IT experts with scientific experience and direct knowledge of their product suite.

The client’s software package had been successful within the US, however the UK represented a new market. This presented a distinct challenge, with a limited talent pool of available technical consultants with the required knowledge in the UK.

Adecco was appointed the exclusive supplier based on our proven track record and ability to deliver niche technical consultants through specialist recruiting and consultancy. 

Our Solution

Due to the specific niche skills required, we advised the client that the best solution would be to look beyond the local market and include candidates based in other countries.

As the nature of the IT roles supported remote working, we recognized an opportunity to attract a broad candidate base, unrestricted to the local region.

Combining our local expertise and global reach, we were able to utilize our candidate databases and specialist infrastructure to quickly source global technical consultants. We also leveraged Adecco’s worldwide offices to approach international workers on a local level, including ongoing contract management for successful candidates.  

Our sourcing strategy focused on the US and Canadian markets, particularly East Coast-based contractors. This was due to the depth of experience identified among this talent pool. Candidates also closely matched the client’s cultural drivers, behavioral traits, and skill requirements. Due to the five-hour time difference, candidates could also adhere to UK working hours.

We were able to source skilled candidates within these markets through our local infrastructure combined with targeted headhunting and advertising campaigns. 

Ultimately, Adecco was able to source ten consultants with expertise in a range of IT modules to fulfil short and long-term contract requirements. The experience and knowledge of each candidate also exceeded what would have been possible from a supplier restricted to sourcing within the UK market.

Due to the high calibre of talent provided, the client successfully hit their milestones and delivered the project on time and within budget.

Adecco continues to provide contingent workers for the client and is in discussions to support the next phase of the programme.
