Plastic Polisher - Automotive Components

Location: Pickering
Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour
Contract: 3-month temporary assignment, with potential for extension
Working Hours: Day shifts, starting at 8:00am, with 8-hour or 12-hour shifts available

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plastic Polisher to join our client in Pickering, working on plastic automotive components.

You will be responsible for preparing, polishing and finishing plastic vehicle parts to ensure they meet the required quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with excellent attention to detail and experience in polishing, sanding or finishing components.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Inspect plastic automotive components for scratches, defects and surface imperfections.

  
  


• 
  

  Polish, sand and buff plastic parts using hand tools, power tools and polishing equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare components for painting, coating or final assembly.

  
  


• 
  

  Carry out quality checks to ensure all finished parts meet the required standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Identify and report any damaged or faulty components.

  
  


• 
  

  Operate polishing and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a clean and organised working area, following health and safety procedures.

  
  


• 
  

  Support the production team to meet quality and productivity targets.

  
  

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• 
  

  Previous experience in polishing, sanding, finishing or preparing components.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify imperfections.

  
  


• 
  

  Confident using hand tools and power tools safely.

  
  


• 
  

  Good practical skills and manual dexterity.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  
  

Desirable:

• 
  

  Experience within automotive manufacturing, vehicle refurbishment or a similar environment.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience using orbital sanders, polishers or buffing machines.

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of plastic repair and automotive paint preparation.
