On behalf of our trusted client, a world leader in railway transport systems and digital mobility solutions, we are looking for experienced candidate to join the company’s growing team in Sofia and to occupy the position of:
Senior Project Planner
About the Role:
As a Senior Project Planner, you will act as the right hand of the Project Manager and play a central part in driving project execution through effective scheduling, coordination, and time management. You will be the key connector between different functions, ensuring alignment, anticipating delays, and supporting on-time project delivery across tender, contract, or program execution phases.
This is a highly visible, cross-functional role that blends communication, leadership, coordination, and analytical thinking.
Main responsibilities:
- Act as the Project Manager’s trusted deputy for all schedule-related topics.
- Apply and promote the Project Scheduling Process and time management best practices.
- Develop, update, and maintain the internal project schedule.
- Facilitate alignment and coordination between internal stakeholders.
- Provide accurate progress updates, risk identification, and mitigation proposals.
- Lead regular schedule review meetings and prepare schedule reports.
- Manage schedule interfaces between different teams and functions.
- Analyse schedule requirements and define the tender preparation timeline.
- Build detailed tender schedules using templates, reference libraries, and stakeholder inputs.
- Highlight critical paths and scheduling risks, proposing optimization actions.
- Deliver all planning-related tender documents on time.
- Support Earned Value Management activities.
- Monitor progress vs baseline and identify variances early.
- Review configuration changes and assess related scheduling risks.
Main requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or Business.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management or industrial environments.
- Understanding of internal processes: tenders, engineering, industrial operations, sourcing, supply chain, quality.
- Experience as Project Scheduler is a plus.
- Knowledge of planning tools is a must (MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
- Fluent in English.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; structured and proactive mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and challenge assumptions when needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in multicultural and international environments.
- Problem solving, scenario analysis, and ability to anticipate scheduling risks.
- Basic understanding of railway products and subsystems is a plus.
