At the Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
MAIN PURPOSE:
- The main purpose is to create value for both BioMar and our customers through effective implementation of R&D knowledge into the commercialisation of products in relevant markets and to build capability of the local market insights, which is needed to drive product development with Technical & R&D.
- Key to the success of the role will be working across several BioMar functions (mainly R&D, Technical/Nutrition, Commercial, BioFarm/Customer Service and Country Marketing) to identify new opportunities, assess product performance, and develop long-term strategic category roadmaps for future products, product enhancements and the commercialisation of products based on market data and feedback. The aim is to launch products and concepts in a systematic way to ensure local requirements and adaptations are considered to maximise the full potential.
Product Development:
- Through the Product Development Process drive product development activities for your portfolio of products by building, pitching and managing product cases ensuring successful coordination of the innovation funnel, from initial ideation to final market launch of product cases.
- Create, pitch and manage product cases based on clear business value with supporting cost-benefit models to align strategic decisions and follow product strategy.
- Take initiatives to generate the right activities to deliver your product portfolio and ultimately BMV’s product strategy and category roadmap both short and longer term.
- Work with local teams to input into a single version of the product category roadmap, which can be used to track progress of product development and communicate to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the definition and prioritisation of R&D or BioFarm projects by actively managing specific Product Cases in the Product Development Process.
- Engage with Technical Team to develop product SPECS requirement & RECIPE development.
- Participate in workshops to align cross-functional teams to find opportunities that will enhance product development.
Product Life Cycle Management
- Manage the product life cycle of all products within your assigned aqua feed product category from market introduction to retirement by maximising the business value with the right initiatives and decisions.
- “Own” the products within your category to ensure that products are fully understood by the relevant departments in each business unit and any improvements to existing products and new products are driven by customer demand or market development.
- Monitor and steer the usage of all products within your category to identify and deliver strategies to drive increased market share and create value for BioMar commercially.
- Regularly observe where competitors are performing well and where they're performing poorly to find the right avenue for maximising product market penetration and profitability.
- Work with Marketing Team on take-to-market plans for all new products or product enhancements.
Product Marketing:
- Build BioMar long-term knowledge in shrimp & fish nutrition for your specific product category.
- Represent the Product Marketing Team for all categories in your country but always engage the specific category lead.
- Working with Marketing Team to develop a good understanding of competitor products and services at a granular level to provide input to the business on where this presents risks or opportunities.
- Contribute to sales enablement activities, for example, bid preparation, communication, and training.
- Present product features and materials to local sales and customer service team and key customers where needed.
- Support sales with datasheets, white papers, customer value stories (based on features and benefits), and materials.

- Strong data-driven mindset and analytical skills for product review, analysis and market dynamics, you will need a strong ability to synthesize data and provide solutions.
Project management:
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast paced but informal working environment with a proven track record of new/enhanced product delivery.
Strategic thinking:
- Ability to demonstrate sound commercial judgment, resourcefulness and an ability to roll-up sleeves as well as think strategically.
CRITICAL TRAINING & CERTIFICATES
- Degree qualified preferably in Aquaculture or any other related field. An equivalent of this educational background in work experience is also acceptable.
- Experience of working in a highly technical environment with the ability to present to customers/stakeholders in both a technical and non-technical way.
- Proven track record working collaboratively across multiple teams and projects in a global matrix style organisation.
- 3+ years of commercial product strategy experience in majority B2B, B2C business, preferably in Aquaculture or similar sector. Ideally with Project Management qualification.
- Deep understanding of global aquaculture landscape (e.g., customers, products, regulations) is preferred.
