Control Cabinet Technician

Do you enjoy electrical work and find technical drawings easy to follow? As a Control Cabinet Technician at VDL Special Vehicles in Born, you will assemble and connect electrical components. You will see the results of your work and gradually take on more responsibility.

As a Control Cabinet Technician, you will work on modules designed to house large batteries. You will start alongside your colleagues. Once you know the tasks well, you will work independently.

Your main tasks include:

• Assembling control cabinets and other electrical components;
• Connecting transformers and inverters;
• Reading and following technical drawings;
• Checking your own work;
• Discussing any issues with your colleagues.

Accuracy is important in this role. Every module must be assembled correctly. Notice something that does not look right? Speak up and work with your team to find a solution.

• A gross hourly wage starting at €17.31, depending on your experience;
• A travel allowance of €0.16 per kilometre, covering up to 45 kilometres each way;
• 8% holiday allowance;
• A full-time role on day shifts, from 07:00 to 15:45;

• You have a background in electrical engineering or electrical work;
• You have experience as a control cabinet technician or in a similar technical role;
• You can read technical drawings;
• You work accurately and check your own work;
• You discuss questions or concerns with your colleagues.
