Work Equipment Heavy Duty Mechanic - Toronto, ON

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Work Equipment Heavy Duty Mechanic to join a leading transportation and infrastructure organization. This role is ideal for a skilled trades professional who enjoys working independently, troubleshooting heavy equipment, and traveling to support critical field operations.

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and preventative maintenance on a variety of Maintenance of Way (MOW) equipment used in the transportation industry. Working primarily from a fully equipped service truck, you'll play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance.

Responsibilities:

·       Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs, and overhauls on heavy-duty equipment

·       Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and mechanical systems

·       Troubleshoot equipment issues and determine corrective actions

·       Repair, replace, clean, and adjust components in accordance with company and regulatory standards

·       Service and maintain Maintenance of Way equipment and machinery

·       Utilize welding, lubrication, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively

·       Complete inspection reports, maintenance records, and work orders accurately

·       Operate and maintain a company service truck (F550 or similar)

·       Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures

·       Respond to equipment breakdowns and support field operations as required

Qualifications and Skills:

·       High School Diploma or GED

·       Red Seal Certification in one of the following:

o   Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

o   Commercial Transport Mechanic

o   Automotive Service Technician

·       Valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent)

·       Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment maintenance

·       Ability to read and use measuring devices and diagnostic equipment

·       Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

·       Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

·       Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship

·       Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (22 kg)

·       Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems

·       Experience troubleshooting electronic systems

·       Welding experience

·       Experience certifying or inspecting heavy equipment according to regulatory standards

·       Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
