Project Engineer / Manager – Dairy (New Zealand)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer / Manager to join our client’s high-performing team, delivering front-end engineering and project execution within the dairy industry.
This hybrid role combines process engineering and project management, focusing on process optimisation, scope development, and end-to-end project delivery. The position involves regular travel across New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering (Front-End):
- Conduct process audits and identify optimisation opportunities
- Develop engineering scopes, PFDs, and concept designs
- Analyse production data to support improvement recommendations
- Work with clients and SMEs to deliver tailored process solutions
- Support commissioning and upgrades on-site
Project Management:
- Manage projects from concept to commissioning (scope, schedule, budget)
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Track progress and manage risks to ensure successful delivery
- Prepare reports and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
About You
- Engineering qualification (NZ recognised preferred)
- 5+ years’ experience in project engineering/management
- Experience in dairy or food processing industries desirable
- Strong project delivery skills (time, cost, quality)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving ability
- Proficient with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project)
- Willingness to travel across New Zealand
