Join Zeagold, New Zealand’s largest egg producer, and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations across our livestock transfer team in Waikouaiti area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and being part of a supportive team.


About the role

We're looking for a reliable and motivated Livestock Transfer Stockperson to join our poultry farming team. This is a hands-on role where you'll help care for our birds while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, and health and safety.


This is a physically active position with early morning starts, offering a minimum of 80 hours per fortnight, overtime opportunities, and ongoing training.

Your responsibilities include

  • Caring for and monitoring the health and wellbeing of poultry.
  • Assisting with vaccination programmes and flock movements.
  • Cleaning sheds, equipment, and maintaining high hygiene standards.
  • Following strict biosecurity and health and safety procedures.
  • Transporting team members between sites when required.
  • Working closely with the team to keep daily farm operations running smoothly.

About you

To be successful, you'll have:

  • A full New Zealand Class 1 Driver License
  • Based in Dunedin or surrounding area
  • A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
  • The ability to work early mornings and perform physical, hands-on work
  • A team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
  • A genuine commitment to animal welfare and safe work practices

Previous experience in poultry, farming, or agriculture is an advantage but not essential.
