An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Quality, Health & Safety professional to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Seaview, Lower Hutt, with Auckland also considered as a secondary location.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of Quality, Health & Safety and compliance across the manufacturing operation and office environment.
The focus of this role is on strengthening and continuously improving the systems, processes and standards that support quality, compliance and operational performance. You will work closely with operational leaders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, consistently applied, measured and improved.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with systems and processes, identifying gaps, improving standards and bringing structure to the way a business manages Quality, Health & Safety and compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Quality, Health & Safety Lead, you will:
- Own and maintain the organisation's Quality, Health & Safety and compliance systems across the business.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve processes, procedures, standards and supporting documentation.
- Lead internal audits, compliance reviews and quality assurance activities, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring actions are followed through.
- Monitor non-conformances, corrective actions and improvement activities, ensuring root causes are identified and issues are effectively resolved.
- Maintain accurate Quality, Health & Safety records, registers and reporting to support effective business oversight.
- Support external audits, customer requirements and regulatory compliance activities.
- Work with operational teams to embed quality and compliance requirements into day-to-day processes.
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, quality and operational performance.
- Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on Quality, Health & Safety, compliance and process requirements.
- Coordinate investigations relating to quality, compliance and Health & Safety matters and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to operational leadership on Quality, Health & Safety and compliance performance.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high operational standards.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a structured and process-driven professional who understands how effective management systems can improve business performance.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Compliance, QHSE or a similar discipline.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, production, industrial or operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing or improving management systems and documented processes.
- Experience with internal audits, compliance reviews, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and the ability to identify process gaps and drive improvements.
- Experience working with quality standards or management systems such as ISO 9001 would be advantageous.
- An understanding of New Zealand Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Strong documentation, reporting and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to analyse issues, identify root causes and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work across operational, technical and leadership teams.
- A structured, analytical and continuous-improvement mindset.
