An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Health & Safety Lead to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Seaview, Lower Hutt (also open to applications in Auckland as a secondary site is based in Auckland). Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of Health & Safety and Quality across both the production facility and office environment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture, improve quality systems, and influence positive change across the business.

What You'll Be Doing
As the Health & Safety Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading Health & Safety and Quality initiatives across manufacturing and office operations.
- Developing, implementing and continuously improving Health & Safety systems, risk management processes and quality programmes.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Driving a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensuring employees and contractors are trained and compliant with company Health & Safety and Quality procedures.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, quality outcomes and business performance.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the wider operation.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:
- A minimum of 2 years' Health & Safety experience within New Zealand.
- Strong knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated legislation.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment (highly desirable).
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
- The ability to influence, coach and build strong relationships across all levels of a business.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and driving positive change.
