Field Service Technician – Automated Milking Systems (Hamilton)

We’re looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician to join our client’s Farm Technologies team in Hamilton.

This field-based role focuses on the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimisation of robotic milking systems, working directly with farmers and dealer networks across New Zealand, with some exposure to Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and service Automated Milking Systems (AMS)
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and dealers
  • Support project delivery and commissioning across sites
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise operational disruption
  • Travel across NZ and occasionally Australia

About You

  • Trade qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar preferred)
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, or installation roles
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
  • Knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems (automation experience a plus)
  • Dairy/agriculture exposure advantageous
  • Customer-focused with strong communication skills
  • Full driver’s licence
