Since our inception in 1996, we have experienced tremendous growth and have maintained our commitment to providing cutting-edge staffing solutions to companies all over the world. 1950-1970
Adia is founded by Henri Lavanchy in Switzerland in 1957. It rapidly expands to other markets by the 1960s
In 1964, Ecco is founded by Philippe Foriel-Destezet in France.
1970 s
In the 1970s, Adia goes global, acquiring more than 85 companies in the process. Adia is also listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange.
1980 s
By the 1980s, Ecco is France's market leader, while Adia continues taking huge leaps into new markets. It sees sales top $1bn and becomes Europe's leading temporary staffing business.
1990 s
Ecco becomes the industry s 2nd biggest selling firm worldwide, surpassing Adia.
In 1996, Adia and Ecco join forces, becoming Adecco, and start placing 250,000+ people per day.
2000 s
Adecco continues to expand and becomes Americas largest recruitment company. Revenue tops $11.6bn. Adecco creates three distinct business units to serve different needs in the market.
2010 s and beyond
Adecco acquires more leading recruitment companies as well as numerous technology enabled training and recruitment platforms, including: QAPA, Vettery, General Assembly, and Hired.
