Mechanical Construction Supervisor

Adecco is currently hiring a Mechanical Construction Supervisor to support a major industrial project in Lloydminster, SK. This 12-month contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced mechanical trades professional with strong construction execution, contractor management, and field leadership experience in the oil & gas, energy, industrial, or heavy construction sectors.

Reporting to the Project Team, you will play a key role throughout the project lifecycle, supporting pre-construction planning, contractor coordination, field execution, safety compliance, quality assurance, schedule management, and project closeout activities.

• Shift: 4 Days On / 3 Days Off | 10-Hour Days

Responsibilities:

Construction Execution & Field Supervision

• Oversee daily mechanical construction activities and contractor performance.

• Monitor project progress, productivity, and schedule adherence.

• Coordinate field execution activities with operations, maintenance, regulatory, and project teams.

• Conduct daily field inspections and verify work is completed safely and according to specifications.

• Identify construction risks, scope changes, and mitigation strategies.

• Support project planning, design reviews, model reviews, and Construction Work Package (CWP) development.

Contractor Management

• Review and validate contractor safety and execution documentation.

• Verify compliance with project requirements, procedures, and specifications.

• Conduct contractor assessments and monitor field performance.

• Review contractor labour, equipment, and daily progress reports.

• Participate in contractor closeout, deficiency management, and demobilization activities.

Health, Safety & Quality

• Promote and support a strong safety culture.

• Conduct field hazard assessments and risk evaluations.

• Ensure compliance with company safety programs, Life Saving Rules, and Safe Work Agreements.

• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and field safety discussions.

• Support quality inspections, audits, walkdowns, turnover packages, and ITP reviews.

• Mentor field personnel on safe work practices and safety expectations.

Project Controls & Reporting

• Support construction planning and schedule development.

• Track contractor performance against project schedules.

• Identify schedule variances and assist with recovery planning.

• Monitor actual costs, labour usage, equipment utilization, and productivity.

• Provide daily reporting on project progress, risks, issues, and look-ahead activities.

• Maintain detailed field records and construction logs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Red Seal Journeyman Certification in one of the following trades:

  • Pipefitter / Steamfitter

  • Welder

  • Boilermaker

  • Millwright

• Experience as a:

  • Mechanical Construction Supervisor

  • Mechanical Field Coordinator

  • Construction Coordinator

  • Mechanical Foreman

  • Field Supervisor

• Strong understanding of mechanical construction and project execution principles.

• Experience working in brownfield industrial or oil & gas environments.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, codes, standards, and safety requirements.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and contractor coordination skills.

• Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
