Mechanical Assemblers / Lab Technicians

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-oriented and reliable Mechanical Assemblers / Lab Technicians for our client. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment supporting the assembly, testing, calibration, and labeling of specialized products.

The successful candidate will have assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of J-STD and IPC-A-610 soldering standards. This role involves basic mechanical assembly, product testing, working in a chemical lab environment, and ensuring products meet quality and performance standards.

*As this role is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP) the qualifying applicants must possess Canadian Citizenship or permanent residency status. A work permit status is not eligible for this role 

• Pay Rate: $27.50/hour

• Location: Kanata, ON

• Shift: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

• Assemble fabricated parts and components according to product specifications and work instructions.

• Perform basic mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools.

• Test and calibrate components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.

• Label products accurately and prepare products for the next stage of production.

• Inspect completed assemblies and identify units that do not meet quality standards.

• Troubleshoot and repair defective units as required.

• Follow established quality procedures and manufacturing processes.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Work safely in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and other manufacturing hazards.

• Complete required documentation and production records accurately.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Technical training, apprenticeship, or formal training in manufacturing, electronics, or a related field is considered an asset.

• 2 to 4 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, laboratory, or related environments.

• Previous experience performing mechanical assembly and product testing preferred.

• Knowledge of J-STD and IPC-A-610 soldering standards is required.

• Ability to read and follow work instructions and technical documentation.

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work effectively under supervision in a fast-paced environment.

• Frequent lifting of materials and components exceeding 30 lbs.

• Repetitive lifting, carrying, and movement throughout the shift.

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.

• Comfortable working in an environment with machinery, chemicals, and other industrial hazards.

• Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Required

• Due to the nature of this position, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain clearance under Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP). Eligible applicants are typically Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
