Material Handler / Forklift operator

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Material Handler / Forklift operator for our client in Whitby, ON. Our client is looking for an experienced warehouse professional with strong material handling skills and experience operating reach trucks and forklifts in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for picking and packing orders, operating material handling equipment, supporting inventory management, and assisting with general warehouse and production activities.
Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
Location: Whitby, ON
Shift: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations
Pick and pack suspension products accurately and efficiently
Prepare shipments and ensure orders are completed to quality standards
Shrink-wrap skids manually or using automatic pallet wrapping equipment
Stock shelves with manufactured and purchased products
Organize warehouse inventory and storage areas
Monitor inventory levels and perform stock checks as required
Forklift & Material Handling
Safely operate Raymond Reach Truck, Counterbalance Forklift, Pallet Jacks, Elevated material handling equipment
Move finished goods, raw materials, and received products throughout the warehouse
Transport work-in-process materials between production areas
Retrieve and move empty cages, skids, and storage bins
Conduct daily inspections of all material handling equipment
Production Support
Assist with regular production activities as required
Provide coverage and support for machine operators when needed
Support receiving functions and material movement processes
Assist with general workshop and warehouse duties
Safety & Quality
Follow all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and work instructions
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures
Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum 2 years of experience operating both counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks
Valid forklift certification or license required
Previous warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing experience
Experience with inventory movement and material handling
Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Able to pass a criminal background check
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
