Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Dispatch Supervisor on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transportation and logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating drivers, shipments, customer requirements, and fleet operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for dispatching trucks, coordinating pick-up and delivery appointments, monitoring transportation performance, and ensuring customer service expectations are met. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, drivers, terminal operations teams, and transportation planners to deliver efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.

  • Location: Brampton, ON | Office-based role with hybrid work options available
  • Shift : Varying 24-hour shift work from Monday to Sunday

Responsibilities:
Dispatch & Fleet Coordination
  • Assign and dispatch loads to drivers to ensure efficient equipment utilization
  • Monitor daily transportation activities and adjust plans as operational needs change
  • Communicate directly with drivers to provide instructions, address concerns, and resolve operational issues
  • Support on-time pick-up and delivery performance while maintaining customer service standards
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations
Transportation Planning
  • Coordinate customer pick-up and delivery appointments
  • Monitor active shipments and proactively address service disruptions
  • Rebook appointments and communicate updates when delays or exceptions occur
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure freight is positioned correctly for delivery requirements
  • Coordinate third-party transportation services when required
Customer & Operations Support
  • Serve as a key liaison between customers, drivers, terminal operations, and planning teams
  • Resolve transportation and delivery issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Communicate shipment priorities and operational updates to internal stakeholders
  • Support a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication
Performance & Cost Management
  • Monitor transportation performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support initiatives to improve fleet utilization and transportation efficiency
  • Help reduce customer wait times, terminal delays, and unnecessary transportation costs
  • Assist in implementing operational improvements to enhance service performance
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatching, fleet operations, or supply chain environments
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Customer-focused approach with exceptional relationship management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations is considered an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
