About the Role

The Sales Director – APAC will lead the regional sales strategy and execution for automation systems, driving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer engagement across Asia-Pacific markets. This role is responsible for building and managing high-performing sales teams, developing key client relationships, and aligning sales initiatives with the company’s global objectives.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial automation, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of APAC market dynamics, including manufacturing, energy, logistics, and smart infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10–15+ years of experience in sales, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role within industrial automation, robotics, or related technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in APAC markets.
  • Experience managing multi-country sales teams and complex enterprise sales cycles.
  • Strong understanding of automation systems, such as PLCs, SCADA, robotics, motion control, or IIoT solutions.
  • Familiarity with industries like manufacturing, energy, automotive, or logistics.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the APAC sales strategy aligned with global business objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive positioning within automation systems.
  • Drive regional growth plans, including new market entry and vertical expansion.
  • Own and deliver regional sales targets (revenue, margin, pipeline growth).
  • Establish KPIs, forecasts, and performance tracking mechanisms.
  • Analyze sales performance data to optimize productivity and profitability.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing regional sales organization.
  • Set clear objectives, provide coaching, and implement talent development plans.
  • Foster a strong sales culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and customer success.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, OEMs, distributors, and system integrators.
  • Lead complex deal negotiations and large-scale project sales.
  • Strengthen channel partnerships and expand partner ecosystem across APAC.
  • Identify and prioritize high-growth sectors such as manufacturing automation, robotics, IIoT, and smart factories.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to tailor solutions for local markets.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and executive forums.
  • Work closely with product management, engineering, and operations teams to align solutions with market needs.
  • Provide customer feedback to influence product roadmap and innovation.
  • Coordinate with regional and global leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Manage contract and pricing governance across regional markets.
