Fail Analysis Engineer

Job Description:

• Set up and sustain physical, electrical, chemical failure analysis equipment and operation such as optical microscope, SEM/EDX, FIB/EDX, X-ray, electrical analysis (electrical verification, PEM, LIT) sample preparation such as chemical decap, cross-section tools, according to project timeline and department KPI.
• Define methodology, perform routine/advanced sample preparation and failure analysis with resources management when applicable for FA requests (e.g. from new product introduction, production failures, yield improvement, reliability failures, and customer returns, these may include technical consultancy, failure analysis report writing and review).
• Plan and improve failure analysis capability and capacity continuously; continually improve Failure Analysis works to ensure its efficiency and compliance.
• Sustain laboratory activities & actively provide technical advice and guidance to FA technicians in a systematic way.
• Ensure compliance (e.g. 5S, safety, ESD, cost compliance, radiation protection, laser protection, passing audit and deviation correction).
• Foster collaboration and positive culture.
• Perform other tasks as required by superiors and act as proxy as necessary.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Materials) or higher.
• At least with 5 years experience in Physical Failure Analysis and its sample preparation such as SEM, FIB, X-ray, mechanical cross section, chemical decap.
• Experience with Semiconductor FA methods.
• Technical leadership skills.
• Working experience in international, multi-cultural teams is highly beneficial
• Knowledge in physical failure analysis and its sample preparation.
• Knowledge in Optical Semiconductors Failure Analysis will be advantage.
• Highly organized, self-driven way of working.
• Excellent presentation, supervisory and multitasking skills.
• Experience with Quality tools such as FMEA, 8D is beneficial.- Computer literate (powerpoint, excel, word document)
• Fluent English is mandatory (written and spoken), able to communicate in Malay with technicians and operators.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of employees.
• Ability to work in multinational teams across different locations, team player.
• Able to work independently, strategic thinking and advanced problem solving skills.
• Able to succeed in a fast-paced environment, "Can do" attitude
• Willingness to travel when needed.
