Sourcing Engineer

A well-established and rapidly growing company in the mobile device and electronics sector. To support continued expansion and supply chain optimization, they are seeking a highly experienced Sourcing Engineer to join them.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, supply chain or related
• Possess 7+ years of hands-on experience in electronic component sourcing, procurement, or component engineering, preferably within consumer electronics, mobile tech, or EMS
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical datasheets
• Strong market knowledge in areas of semiconductors, passive components, RF and wireless components, power devices and converters etc.
• Strategic mindset with strong commercial accumen
• Highly organized, results driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to travel regionally for supplier visits and industry events

Responsibilities:

• Review Bill of Materials (BOMs) to identify the correct electronic components. Source, validate, and test alternate and secondary components for cost reduction and availability
• Lead sourcing strategies for electronic components to achieve cost reduction and risk mitigation
• Manage the full sourcing lifecycle including supplier identification, qualification, negotiation, and performance management
• Identify alternative components and supply channels to strengthen supply resilience
• Develop solutions for obsolete, constrained or high-risk components
• Partner with R&D, product development, and manufacturing teams during new product development (NPD) phase to ensure selected components meet the smartphone's technical specifications
