Adecco's client - a global electronics manufacturer is looking for a Planning Manager who is responsible for leading production planning, material planning, and capacity planning to ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and efficient factory utilization. This role acts as a key coordination point between customers, program management, production, supply chain, and manufacturing to balance demand, supply, and operational constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in production/material planning within electronics manufacturing.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a Planning Manager or senior planning leadership role.
- Strong exposure to SMT, PCBA, box-build, and NPI environments.
- Experience working with global customers and internal cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP planning logic and capacity planning.
- Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing flows and constraints.
- Data-driven, structured problem-solving mindset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing, customer-driven environment.
- Good English communication skills (spoken and written).
Demand & Production Planning
- Develop and manage master production schedules (MPS) based on customer demand, forecasts, and firm orders.
- Balance demand, capacity, and material availability to meet On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets.
- Drive short-term and mid-term production planning for high-mix, low-to-mid volume EMS environments.
Material Planning & Inventory Control
- Work closely with Procurement and SCM to ensure timely material availability for production.
- Monitor material shortages, excess, and obsolescence risks; drive mitigation actions.
- Optimize inventory levels, WIP, and FG to support service level and cash-flow targets.
Capacity & Resource Planning
- Plan and optimize capacity across SMT, PCBA, box-build, test, and final assembly lines.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and line loading plans with Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Support capacity analysis for NPI, ramp-up, and volume changes.
Customer & Program Coordination
- Collaborate with Program Managers as the primary planning interface for customer demand, forecast, and delivery commitments.
- Support customer meetings (QBR/MBR) with planning, delivery, and capacity data.
- Manage delivery commitments and recovery plans for shortages, delays, or priority changes.
Planning System & Data Management
- Own planning accuracy and data integrity in ERP/MRP systems.
- Improve planning parameters, lead times, safety stock, and planning logic.
- Develop planning dashboards and KPIs (OTD, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, schedule adherence).
Continuous Improvement & Leadership
- Lead and develop the planning team (Production Planners, Material Planners).
- Drive process improvements in planning, scheduling, and cross-functional execution.
- Establish standard planning processes, escalation mechanisms, and communication cadence.
