REQUIREMENTS

v Education

·       BSC or equivalent, major in mechanical engineering

·       Lean manufacturing or green belt knowledge will be a plus

v Experience

·       Background of plastic specialty and deal with plastic industry more than 5 years

·       DFM knowledge like tooling material, draft, mold flow, parting line, shrink rate, cooling and etc.

·       Knowledge of measurement analysis, tooling, and part adjustment

·       Familiar with injection tooling, process, and variant materials. for inst. ABS, POM, ASA, PA, PS, PC, PMMA

·       Experience in supplier qualification, process audit, and part approval ( FAI, Sample Approval).

v Skills

·       Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T

·       Chinese is required, English is plus

·       Good communication

·       PC skills for inst. 3D-CAD, Office

·       Basic knowledge of project management will be a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Plastic Parts Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

·       Work with plastic molding suppliers during the product development and mass production stages.

·       Evaluate and approve new plastic molding suppliers according to company standards (technical capability, quality system, capacity, etc.).

·       Review supplier tooling design, material selection, and molding process to ensure compliance with technical drawings and specifications.

·       Conduct supplier process audits and part evaluations to verify production readiness and capability.

·       Support DFM (Design for Manufacturability) discussions between design and suppliers to optimize part design and mold structure.

·       Analyze sample parts (FAI, trial parts) and provide technical feedback to suppliers.

·       Support problem-solving and corrective actions for any molding-related issues during production.

·       Collaborate with internal teams (Quality, Procurement, Production, Production Engineering, R&D) to ensure supplier performance and part quality.

·       Prepare and maintain technical reports, inspection records, and approval documentation.

·       You will need to be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation, including: 

o  Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, copier/printer, etc as well as have the ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

o  Required to retrieve or reposition products like sewing machines weighing up to 50 pounds

o  Any additional physical requirements
