HMI Test Engineer

SUMMARY

Our client is looking for an HMI Test Engineer to validate and verify Human Machine Interface (HMI) features for automotive infotainment, digital cockpit, and cluster systems. The engineer will be responsible for manual and automated testing, defect analysis, and system-level validation to ensure high-quality user experience and compliance with OEM requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze HMI requirements, UI specifications, and system behaviors.
• Design and execute manual and automated test cases for automotive HMI features.
• Validate functionality of infotainment, cluster, HVAC, navigation, media, and ADAS visualization.
• Perform system integration testing with CAN/Ethernet communication.
• Verify touch, hard key, steering wheel control, and voice interaction behaviors.
• Conduct regression, smoke, functional, and performance testing.
• Simulate vehicle signals using CAN tools and validate HMI response.
• Analyze logs, reproduce issues, and support root cause investigation.
• Report, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, UX teams, and OEM customers.
• Support CI/CD and automated testing activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in HMI testing, infotainment, digital cockpit, or embedded systems.
• Familiar with Linux or Android-based systems.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies and defect lifecycle.
• Ability to analyze logs and debug system issues.
• Basic scripting/programming knowledge with Python

1.Knowledge of automotive communication protocols:

• CAN
• LIN
• Ethernet / SOME-IP

2.Experience with automotive testing tools:

• Vector CANoe / CANalyzer
• ADB / Android logcat

3.Experience with test management tools:

• Jira
• DOORS
• Jenkins.
