Technical Lead – Critical Facilities

A Technical Lead to join a high‑availability data center operation. This role sits at the frontline of critical infrastructure reliability, providing technical leadership, emergency response oversight, and hands‑on operational control within a 24/7 production environment.

Reporting to the Facility Lead, the Technical Lead plays a key role in maintaining zero‑downtime operations, ensuring safety and compliance, and building strong technical capability across shift teams.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Approximately 3–5 years’ experience in a data centre or equivalent critical environment.
• Solid understanding of critical systems operations and maintenance best practices.
• Strong safety mindset; familiarity with ISO 27001 / 45001 / 14001 advantageous.
• Comfortable working in a 24/7 operational environment, including emergency call‑outs.
• Clear communicator with good written and spoken English.
• Hands‑on, calm under pressure, detail‑focused, and proactive in problem solving.
• Collaborative team player with a professional, customer‑focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the operation, maintenance, and repair of mission‑critical infrastructure (power, cooling, and related systems).
• Act as senior authorized person for switching activities and critical interventions.
• Coordinate and prioritize planned and reactive maintenance to ensure full PM and SLA compliance.
• Lead emergency response and incident coordination, working in line with the site Emergency Response Plan.
• Oversee contractor activities, including inductions, permits to work, risk assessments, and method statement reviews.
• Ensure accurate operational reporting and work tracking through CAFM systems.
• Train, coach, and develop technicians, lead drills, game days, and continual competency improvement.
• Enforce strong Health, Safety, and Environmental standards at all times.
• Provide flexible shift coverage during emergencies, holidays, or sickness as required by business needs
