About This Role

The Production Manager oversees all daily operations within the dairy processing facility, ensuring that production runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem‑solving skills, and technical knowledge related to dairy manufacturing processes such as pasteurization, homogenization, fermentation, filling, and packaging.

The Production Manager works closely with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and R&D teams to meet production targets while optimizing cost, output, and product quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in food or dairy manufacturing; at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of dairy processing technologies.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills across departments.
  • Familiarity with production management systems (ERP/MES).
  • Ability to work under pressure and in shift-based operation environments.
  • Strong commitment to hygiene, safety, and quality.
  • Physical capability to work in cold-room conditions when required.
  • Readiness to work extended hours during peak production periods.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and supervise daily dairy production activities to meet output and quality targets.
  • Oversee processes such as milk receiving, pasteurization, homogenization, culturing, packaging, and cold-chain storage.
  • Monitor production KPIs (yield, efficiency, waste levels, output rate, OEE).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent).
  • Work with QA team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain strict hygiene standards in all production areas.
  • Lead and supervise production staff across shifts.
  • Conduct training on operations, safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Reduce waste, downtime, and energy consumption.
  • Monitor machine performance and coordinate with Maintenance to schedule repairs or preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of production assets.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain/Planning teams to align raw materials and production schedules.
  • Track and report daily production performance and incident logs.
  • Ensure accurate inventory and documentation for audits.
