Certified Accountant- (Fluent English) Viana do Castelo

Adecco Recruitment is supporting a leading company in the industrial sector, based in Viana do Castelo, in the recruitment of a Certified Accountant- (Fluent English) Viana do Castelo strengthen its Finance team.

🔎 Key Responsibilities:

• Create, monitor, and improve internal control systems, procedures, and forms related to general accounting records.
• Act as the resident expert for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) systems.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior accounting team members.
• Prepare complex reports with accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to business controls and generally accepted accounting principles.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring information remains up to date and reliable.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, supporting auditors throughout their inquiries.
• Process and organize accounting data used to prepare the balance sheet and financial statements.
• Support month‑end closing activities.
• Assist in the implementation or enhancement of accounting systems.
• Manage a broad scope of technical accounting matters and complex issues requiring strong analytical skills.
• Collaborate closely with various internal departments, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Work with autonomy, with objectives and milestones set in advance.

🎓 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field (Master’s degree highly valued).
• 5+ years of professional experience in accounting roles.
• Certified Accountant (OCC) - mandatory.
• Previous experience in the industrial environments (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of SAP ERP systems.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Full proficiency in Portuguese and English.
• CPA (OCC) or CMA certification is considered a plus.
