For a company producing glasses and lenses we are looking for a Candidate for the position of:  

Export/Import Assistant


Candidate Profile:

  • be able to work in a strong team environment
  • Customer-oriented, proactive
  • Degree as a Customs declarant or other related field is a nice to have
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of customs (species, value, origin), knowledge of EU mechanisms (REX, FTA), import/export processes and in Transport regulation (IATA) .
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, and basics on EU VAT scheme  
  • English is daily working language, French is a nice to have, other languages are welcome (German, Italian)

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out invoice for export trade & preparation of the export documentation (invoices, CoO, EUR1, ATR…) on behalf of Essilor International regarding intra and extra-Community flows, and in accordance with Trade & Transport regulations in force (e.g. IATA, ADR). 
  • Carry out export and import customs clearance within the framework of the French customs clearance procedure (DCN) by ensuring compliance with Customs & Trade regulations and in collaboration with customs offices. 
  •  Provide instructions and drive the follow-up of Customs operations when achieved by external brokers. 
  • Provide an active support in related customs activities handled by the team (Administrative statements, Customs optimizations tools or schemes…).
  •  Carry out digital and paper archiving of export & import documents in accordance with tax and customs regulations.
  • Enhance a good communication with forwarders and customers for smoothing international trade flows.
  • Be part of a continuous improvement process and contribute to developing the performance of the service in the best interest of the customers and the company.
