Compensation Range: $40/HR (commensurate with experience)

Join our client, a progressive financial services organization, as a Scrum Master and play a pivotal role in driving digital transformation through agile methodologies. What You'll Do

Leadership & Coaching (30%)

  • Guide and mentor cross-functional teams in scrum, agile practices, Kanban, and effective project management methodologies.

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and planning meetings to ensure maximum team engagement.

  • Establish an agile mindset through coaching conversations and innovative exercises.

  • Collaborate with fellow Scrum Masters to promote best practices and ensure organizational alignment.

  • Provide technical guidance on agile, lean, and human-centered design principles.

Work Support & Delivery (30%)

  • Partner with Product Owners to facilitate prioritization discussions and release planning.

  • Remove impediments and cultural barriers that limit team success.

  • Support product and backlog planning to ensure clear prioritization and goal alignment.

  • Ensure successful delivery of initiatives within budget, scope, and timeline.

  • Engage in solution design, customer feedback sessions, and data analysis.

Collaboration & Communication (15%)

  • Foster cross-training and mutual support across team members.

  • Facilitate communication both within and outside the team.

  • Shield teams from external interference while maintaining productivity.

  • Coach teams across the organization in agile adoption.

Problem Solving & Risk Management (15%)

  • Create a trusting environment where issues can be raised openly.

  • Navigate teams through roadblocks to ensure timely sprint completion.

  • Apply strong business and technical understanding to problem-solve effectively.

  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures for risk mitigation.

Metrics & Reporting (10%)

  • Track and assess key metrics and deliverable progress.

  • Maintain visual management tools including Kanban boards and OKRs.

  • Present progress information to stakeholders with consistent formatting and alignment.

What You Bring

Education

  • Required: 2-year College, Trade, or Technical School Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or quantitative discipline.

Experience

  • Required: 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in an equivalent agile environment. (Note: We value global experience and do not require that this experience be gained within Canada).

  • Preferred: 3+ years in leadership or project lead roles; experience in financial services; software development or business systems analysis background; project management experience or education.

Certifications

  • Required: Certified Scrum Master designation (or commitment to complete within 12 months).

Key Relationships
You'll collaborate with diverse stakeholders including development teams, product owners, leadership, vendors, and external partners in the credit union network to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
