Financial Controller
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Financial Controller to join a growing organization in Mississauga, ON. As the Controller, you will oversee the company's accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, effective cash flow management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You'll also play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and providing valuable insights that support business decision-making.

Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Review and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
Oversee account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger reviews
Prepare financial reports for management and lending institutions
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements
Accounting Operations Leadership
Manage and mentor the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Accounting team members
Ensure financial transactions accurately reflect company operations
Monitor foreign exchange activity and manage foreign currency exposure
Foster continuous learning and development within the accounting team
Establish clear expectations, deliverables, and accountability measures
Payroll & Benefits Administration
Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing and related accounting entries
Support employee onboarding and benefits administration
Review benefit programs and recommend enhancements when appropriate
Ensure payroll compliance with applicable legislation and company policies
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements
Oversee Accounts Receivable collections and Accounts Payable obligations
Review and approve wire transfers and major supplier payments
Manage banking relationships and reporting requirements
Monitor fraud risks and strengthen internal control processes
Collaborate with insurance providers to ensure adequate business coverage
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities
Analyze financial, sales, purchasing, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities
Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to leadership
Prepare commission calculations and reporting for eligible sales teams
Support strategic planning and business performance initiatives
Compliance & Audit Management
Ensure compliance with HST, WSIB, EHT, and other regulatory requirements
Coordinate annual review engagements and external audits
Act as the primary liaison with external accountants and auditors
Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance practices
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
MBA considered an asset
CPA, CMA, or CGA designation preferred
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment is highly preferred
3–5 years of leadership or management experience within accounting or finance
Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting functions, budgeting, and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS
Experience working with ERP systems such as:
JobBOSS
SAP
NetSuite
Oracle
Similar ERP platforms
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen
Hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring and developing teams
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong understanding of cash flow, risk management, and financial controls
Ability to influence decisions through data-driven insights
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
