Electrical Designer (Buildings)
Adecco is currently hiring an Electrical Designer for a full-time opportunity in Victoria, BC. This role is ideal for someone with consulting experience who enjoys working on building projects and developing electrical designs in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
In this role, you will support electrical design and documentation for a variety of projects including mixed-use developments, office towers, and institutional facilities. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to develop construction drawings, perform calculations, and support projects from planning through to construction and commissioning.
Salary: Up to $80,000/year

Responsibilities
Work under the direction of Project Managers to develop construction document packages and reports
Assist lead Engineers with planning, studies, and assessments
Conduct site reviews to document existing conditions
Prepare engineering studies and perform design calculations including feeder sizing, voltage drop, fault current, and lighting calculations
Design and layout electrical systems including equipment, wiring devices, lighting, life safety, communication, and security systems
Prepare electrical design mark-ups and coordinate with drafting teams
Liaise with utilities for new service connections
Support construction and commissioning processes, including preparing field reports, reviewing shop drawings, and managing change orders
Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other project stakeholders
Ensure designs align with applicable codes and standards
Support additional project tasks as required
Qualifications
Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng.), Technology diploma, or Red Seal electrician certification
2 to 5 years of consulting experience in the building industry
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code and industry standards (ASHRAE, BCBC, NECB)
Experience with AutoCAD
Knowledge of electrical design across various sectors including mixed-use, healthcare, and institutional
Familiarity with new development and tenant improvement projects
Experience with short circuit and fault study software is an asset
Working toward P.Eng designation is preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience with software such as Revit, AGI32, ETAP, SKM, or PV system modelling is an asset
Experience with AI tools such as Copilot is an asset
