Job Description – Sales Manager
Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing day-to-day sales operations and executing the Company’s business strategies in collaboration with appointed distributors. Key responsibilities include achieving sales targets, driving profitability for both equipment and aftermarket businesses within the assigned region, and implementing marketing and business development initiatives alongside cross-functional teams
Principal Accountabilities
Sales Management
- Provide strategic input for the development of realistic and goal-oriented short-, mid-, and long-term business plans; define objectives and sales targets.
- Lead, motivate, and support distributors in the assigned region to achieve sales goals, ensuring customer requirements are met while aligning with the Company’s profitability objectives.
- Monitor project flow and pipeline activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and act as a liaison to ensure contractual obligations and corporate policies are met.
- Assess relevant marketing mix elements (product and price).
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by attending conferences, exhibitions, and through proactive outreach such as cold-calling.
- Maintain daily updates of all sales activities, opportunities, quotations, and orders in the CRM system (SAP).
- Review and manage the technical and contractual terms of all projects.
- Ensure full compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures, including FCPA-related requirements.
Marketing Management
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to conduct macro-level market analysis and optimize go-to-market approaches across specific segments.
- Develop annual forecasts for defined territories and segments by analyzing historical sales and profitability, and negotiate new targets for each sales channel.
- Take ownership of key accounts within the region in alignment with APAC strategies and policies, including organizing regular follow-up meetings to maintain customer relationships and ensure adherence to contractual commitments.
Competencies & Qualifications
- Strong network and experience in Vietnam’s HVAC sector, EPC contractors, consultants, or direct end users (experience in Data Center and/or Industrial sectors is a plus).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in engineering, with approximately 10 years of industrial sales experience in an international manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in sales management.
- Proficiency in English and the local language, both written and spoken.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand and analyze financial ratios and regional business data.
- Highly results-driven with motivation to achieve challenging targets.
- Demonstrated sales and negotiation skills.
- Decisive, with the willingness to take calculated risks to close business opportunities.
- Strong market awareness with the ability to conduct competitor analyses.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong listening and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and training capabilities.
- Team player with a collaborative spirit and willingness to support colleagues.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- High ethical standards and integrity are essential.
