- Client: FDI, a global leader in paints, coatings, and specialty chemicals
- 8AM – 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri + 2 Sats/month (or 4 Sats morning/month)
- Working independently
- Lead RD&I activities for waterborne (WB) and UV wood coatings, supporting Vietnam and SEA innovation and business goals.
- Drive formulation, modification, scale-up, and first-batch production, ensuring sustainability, cost, quality, and compliance (MOC, HC).
- Develop full WB and UV coating systems for OEM customers and SEA markets.
- Oversee lab testing, analytical work (FTIR, GC, XRF, UV, etc.), raw material evaluation, and new material introduction.
- Support Technical Service and Sales with customer visits, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement.
- Prepare PDS and MSDS, implement 5S in the wood lab, and collaborate with suppliers on new or alternative raw materials.
- From 8 years of experience as chemist for waterborne or UV Wood coatings
- Preferred to have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
- Have hands-on experience and solutions on full water coatings system on furniture or UV coatings for furniture.
- Strong knowledge on IKEA test methods and regulations.
- Team player, strong problem fixer and new technology learning capability.
- Fluent English.
