Estimator (OOH Media Project)

JOB OVERVIEW

The Junior Estimator will support the preparation of cost estimates for large-format digital structures and outdoor media projects delivered across Australia. The role focuses on using Bluebeam and other digital tools to perform material take-offs, compile pricing data, and assist in preparing detailed cost submissions for steel and fabrication components. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
• 1–2 years’ experience in estimating, drafting, or engineering support (graduates encouraged to apply).
• Basic understanding of structural drawings, fabrication methods, and construction principles.
• Experience using Bluebeam or other take-off software (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
• Exposure to steel or industrial projects (advantageous).

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Estimating & Project Support

• Perform digital take-offs using Bluebeam from structural, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for steel structures, foundations, and associated components.
• Gather supplier pricing and support cost comparisons for materials and subcontracted works.
• Prepare and format cost summaries and documentation for review by the Senior Estimators.
• Support transition of awarded projects by compiling estimating data, quantities, and pricing references.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with design teams to clarify quantities and scope.
• Support project estimators in both structural steel and digital signage project streams.
• Assist in maintaining databases of supplier rates, labour allowances, and fabrication benchmarks.

3. Learning & Development

• Build capability in cost estimating, material quantification, and construction sequencing.
• Participate in structured mentoring and training within the estimating and operations teams.
• Build proficiency interpreting structural, electrical, and architectural documentation relevant to outdoor media structures.

4. Systems, Quality & Compliance

• Maintain accurate estimating records and digital files.
• Follow internal estimating procedures and documentation standards.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the estimating team.
