Adecco Healthcare is searching for a Surgical Technician to become part of our client's team in McMinnville, Oregon 97128. This is a direct-hire, full-time, and permanent opportunity.

Pay
CST: $29.65-$38.80/hr
CSTFA: $32.60-$44.90/hr 
Sign on Bonus: $10,000
Extra pay of $3/hr for on-call

Shift Differentials
Night Shift Differential: $6.50 per hour 
Weekend Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour 

Shift
OR is open M-F, 7:00am-5:30pm - 4x10s, one day off during the week.  On-call shifts ( one weekend a month) and one week night (opportunity to pick up more).  

Requirements

 CST

  • High School diploma or equivalent required 
  • Certified Surgery Technician required. OR Proof of work as surgical tech during at least two of the three years immediately preceding Jan  1, 2017. 

  • One year of operating room experience preferred. 

  • Obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire and maintain as current.

CSTFA

  • High School diploma or equivalent 

  • Certified Surgery Technician required 

  • Three years of operating room experience preferred. 

  • Certified Surgical First Assist required 

  • Obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire 


Job Summary
As part of the surgical team, the surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Job Duties

  • Don OR attire and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Gathers, checks and opens supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
  • Performs the surgical scrub, and donning gown and gloves.
  • Sets up the sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
  • Performs initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator.
  • Assists the team members with gowning and gloving.
  • Assist with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field.
  • Participates in the surgical site and patient verification during the time out procedure.
  • Prepares and anticipates additional instrumentation, equipment and supplies for usage during the   procedure.
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon during all procedures.
  • Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
  • Performs all counts as necessary.
  • Cares for prepares and passes off specimens as appropriate.
  • Reconciles implants with circulator at the end of procedure if used.
  • Updates and keeps accurate records of the surgeons preferences.
  • Assists with cleaning of the room and return of unused supplies.
  • Assists in preparation of the OR for the next patient.
  • Assist in transfer of patient to and from OR table.
