As a Health and Safety expert, you will drive a comprehensive workplace safety program to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Key responsibilities include:
Safety Program Management:
Maintain current knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) policies, guidelines, and industrial processes
Develop and implement safety protocols, engineering controls, and product design features to reduce employee exposure hazards
Conduct regular facility and equipment inspections to identify and remediate potential hazards proactively
Incident Investigation & Prevention:
Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses to determine root causes and preventative measures
Review new construction/equipment plans and specifications to verify all safety requirements are met
Analyze findings from investigations, inspections, and environmental testing to recommend improvements
Safety:
Evaluate the effectiveness of employee safety training programs covering regulations, hazard monitoring, equipment use, etc.
Provide technical guidance to advise the organization on managing health/safety issues and necessary program enhancements
Oversee compliance training including new hire onboarding, ongoing refreshers, and regulation updates
This role is crucial for developing, implementing, and continuously improving an organization's health and safety framework to create a secure work environment while meeting all standards.
Other requirements:
Must be proactive in nature with your work and drive appropriate accountability to get things done
Must be able to work with both hands and arms (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hands)
Ability to stand and walk 80% of the time
Lifting requirement up to 50 lbs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead, challenge and provide direction to employees, visitors and contractors
Good problem-solving skills are essential
Ability and willingness to quickly adapt to change
Willingness to train and develop new skills/knowledge in the HS&E spectrum

Pay Details: $50,000.00 per year
