MUST HAVE current hands-on experience in a sterile compounding environment

Compounding as performed by IVMedco involves the use of pharmaceutical grade chemicals to prepare by trained employees under strict conditions a final product for patient use as prescribed by a physician. We are certified by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Class AS Pharmacy able to perform Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding.


Job Summary:
The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is responsible for the overall management and operation of the pharmacy. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, supervises pharmacy staff, and oversees the delivery of safe and efficient compounding services. The PIC will act as the primary point of contact for all pharmacy-related matters and will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, clinics, and hospitals to provide optimal service.

Compounding:

  • Non-Sterile - conform to standards as developed by USP 795. Examples of this type of compounding include gels, suppositories, oral liquids, and generally medications in various dosage forms that are not otherwise commercially available.

  • Sterile - conform to standards as developed by USP 797. Examples of this type of compounding include medications used in various types of “pain pumps” administered by Intravenous.

  • Specialty sterile prescriptions for physicians who need them for patient use, including ophthalmic products, Trimix (ED use), and other prescriptions with multiple ingredients.

  • Admix Antibiotics for those facilities not having a USP 797 approved Sterile Room.

  • Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and provide information on drug interactions, side effects, and proper usage.

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution, or B.Sc. in Pharmacy

Licensure: Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Texas

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a sterile compounding environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Must have knowledge of and able to comply with USP 797 and TSBP rules and regulations.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.



Pay Details: $130,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
