Seeking a Medical Director in the Portland, OR area!
We are seeking a Medical Director to provide leadership and psychiatric care for adults with severe and persistent mental illness, addiction disorders, and non-disabling mental health issues. This role combines direct patient care with clinical oversight, ensuring high-quality psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and coordination of care. The Medical Director also establishes medical practice and productivity standards in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules while leading a team of medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage medications.
- Provide clinical leadership and consultation to medical staff.
- Coordinate care with external providers to ensure continuity of treatment.
- Review medical charts and approve assessments and service plans as required.
- Lead scheduled consultations and support SMHS (Specialized Mental Health Services) staff.
What You Bring:
- Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Training and expertise in community mental health.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Requirements:
- Active, unlimited Oregon medical license as a psychiatrist.
- Board Certification in Psychiatry (or eligibility with a plan to certify within three years).
- DEA Certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and reach.
- Lift 20–60 lbs. if needed.
- Stand or sit for extended periods.

Pay Details: $250,000.00 to $285,000.00 per year
