Maintenance Technician 3rd Shift

Position Overview: Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and troubleshooting on all plant mechanical systems and production equipment, including fillers, processing, packaging, robotics, and automation equipment. The role involves repairing, testing, maintaining, and improving the mechanical systems across the facility to support Manufacturing Operations, ensuring all equipment functions correctly to prevent production downtime and service interruptions. This position requires strong mechanical and technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to performing tasks correctly the first time. A strong desire to help others, respect for colleagues, and a continuous drive to learn new skills and equipment are essential.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance, and repairs on equipment. Identify and implement improvements to keep equipment operating at or above required efficiency levels.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical systems such as fillers, conveyors, and case erectors.
Use test equipment such as vibration meters, laser alignment systems, etc., to diagnose and fix equipment problems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Maintain accurate work logs of repairs and equipment modifications using the CMMS work order system, including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs, to ensure information is available for workload management.
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements while adhering to the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to read and utilize prints and drawings of components and mechanical systems.
Strong mechanical skills and technical aptitude.
Proven organizational, logical, and detailed troubleshooting methods.
Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to support production needs, including on-call coverage.
Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
Demonstrated ability to understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
A strong drive to learn new skills and investigate unfamiliar topics.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in using a personal computer (PC) and related software, ideally Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience and expertise in Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Previous experience with mechanical troubleshooting of automated systems.
Knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment, and products.
Journeyman’s Certification as a Mechanic.
Hours: 3rd Shift 10pm-6am
