This position can be a direct hire or temp to hire opportunity.

Shifts Available: 2nd shift and 3rd shift

Pay: $24-26 per hour, plus applicable shift differential

Job Description

Job Title: Annealing Operator

Department: Finishing

Reports To: Finishing Supervisor

SUMMARY

Sets up and operates all furnaces related to annealing strip products including the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Has the ability to set up and operates all furnaces in the department.

• Operates annealing furnaces to produce annealed strip material to conform to required shape, hardness and quality.

• Starts and shuts down furnaces according to work instructions. Brings furnaces to desired temperature and adjusts Nitrogen and Hydrogen flows to appropriate levels.

• Operates aging ovens, weld wire line, degreasing line and Radcon furnace per established work instructions.

• Performs quality checks to insure product meets internal and customer specifications using various measuring devices.

• Completes all required paperwork.

• Performs training for other operators, as needed.

• Performs all safety and quality checks on the equipment and perform required preventive maintenance and other maintenance as required.

• Must be able to perform multiple functions daily.

• Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

SKILLS:

• Basic computer functions for data entry purposes.

• Must be detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and organizational skills.

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.

• Must be able to work overtime.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

• Ability to work around metal powders and nickels.

• Ability to wear a respirator while conducting job duties.

• Ability to work around and on industrial equipment.

• Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, front-end loader, payloader)

• Ability to ascend and descend steep stairs and ladders.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

• Must be willing to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Required to work in a production area. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The production area is not climate controlled.

Pay Details: $24.00 to $27.25 per hour
