Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Opportunities
School-Based & Clinic-Based Positions Available
Locations: Services provided across Phoenix and Buckeye
Position 1: School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Type: Full-Time | 10-Month School-Year Schedule (August–May)
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School-Based COTA to support developmentally disabled and dual-diagnosed students in a collaborative school-based setting. This role focuses on helping students build functional skills that promote academic success, independence, and social development.
The COTA will work closely with teachers, occupational therapists, BCBAs, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality occupational therapy services, primarily within ABA-based programming environments.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Independently manage and conduct therapy sessions with access to supervision and peer support
- Deliver OT services primarily within ABA programming settings
- Serve predominantly preschool-aged students (5 and under), with some students up to age 12
- Maintain an average caseload of approximately 30 students per week (about 6 sessions daily)
- Focus on emotional regulation, visual-motor integration, and pediatric developmental goals
- Document sessions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with school and regulatory standards
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating students upon entry into the program
- Provide individual and group OT services under supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support development and updates of IEPs
- Prepare semester progress reports
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Maintain therapy equipment and materials
Schedule & Work Locations
- August–May (10-month position)
- June & July off
- Monday–Friday schedule
- 4 days per week in Phoenix
- 1 day per week in Buckeye
Compensation

$50,000 – $60,000 annually (10-month salary) (DOE)
Position 2: Clinic-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Type: Full-Time | Year-Round
Position Overview
We are also seeking a Clinic-Based COTA to provide pediatric occupational therapy services in an outpatient clinic setting. This role focuses on direct therapy services for children under 18, supporting developmental, sensory, and functional goals in a structured clinical environment.
The Clinic-Based COTA will collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members while independently managing daily therapy sessions.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to pediatric clients
- Implement treatment plans developed by supervising Occupational Therapists
- Focus on developmental milestones, sensory processing, fine motor skills, and functional independence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Communicate progress effectively with families and caregivers
- Participate in team meetings and professional development
Schedule
- Full-time, year-round position
- Monday–Friday schedule
Compensation
- $55,000 – $65,000 annually (DOE)
Required Qualifications (Both Positions)
- Associate degree from an accredited COTA program
- Eligible for NBCOT (AOTCB) certification
- Eligible for Arizona state licensure
- Ability to pass required fingerprinting and background clearance
