**Avionics/Electrical Technician**

**Location:** [Westfield, MA]

**Hiring for All Shifts**

**Education and Experience Requirements:**

- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Four (4) years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years of related experience.

- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.

- FCC and NCATT certifications are also preferred.

**Position Purpose:**

Provide technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft systems to minimize schedule impact while ensuring safety and quality. This position may also serve as a backup to the Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician, ensuring that safety, quality, and schedule goals are met.

**Essential Functions:**

- Perform operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.

- Install and functionally test electrical/avionics components according to Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.

- Ensure all installations meet quality standards and troubleshoot systems for timely repairs.

- Repair or replace defective components using approved techniques (e.g., splicing, soldering, pinning of wiring).

- Perform and comply with engineering changes and modifications.

- Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate system performance and reliability.

- Document all work performed on aircraft for inspection readiness.

- Maintain test equipment and electronic systems.

- Follow all safety programs, including FOD, tool control, and 5-S regulations.

- Adapt to sudden schedule changes.

**Additional Functions:**

- Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight tests.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Other Requirements:**

- Proficiency in other aircraft systems or disciplines (e.g., hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, structural repairs) is preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, work in confined areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.

- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
