Logistics
We are looking for a Logistics Specialist for our client operating in the “Yeast and Biotech” industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on work experience in logistics, import operations, or supply chain management, preferably in the trading industry (food, feed, or chemical sector is a strong plus).
- In-depth knowledge of Turkish import regulations, customs clearance procedures, and international trade logistics processes.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; basic Turkish language skills are required for daily local communication.
- Strong ability to prepare and review international trade and logistics documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Familiar with warehouse management principles and inventory control systems; experience using logistics or ERP software is preferred. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams effectively.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced trading environment; strong problem-solving skills to handle logistics emergencies and unexpected delays.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
- Import Operations Management: Handle full-cycle import logistics for food, feed, and chemical cargoes, including coordinating with overseas suppliers, preparing and reviewing import documentation.
- Order Processing & Follow-Up: Create, process, and track sales and purchase orders accurately in the company’s internal system; monitor order status from placement to final delivery, resolve any order discrepancies, delays, or issues in a timely manner, and provide regular updates to internal teams (sales, procurement)
- Warehouse Management & Inventory Control: Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inbound and outbound cargo receipt, storage, stacking, and dispatch; conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records, ensure proper storage conditions for food, feed, and chemical goods
- Logistics Vendor Coordination & Management: Source, evaluate, and maintain long-term partnerships with reliable logistics service providers, including freight forwarders, shipping lines, trucking companies, and customs brokers; negotiate favorable freight rates, service terms, and delivery schedules.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain complete and organized logistics and import records, files, and reports; prepare weekly and monthly logistics performance reports, cost analysis reports.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, sales, finance, and quality control teams to align logistics operations with overall business objectives.
