About This Role
The Business Development Lead will drive market expansion, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth for the company’s Power Tools division. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, analyzing market trends, and developing strategies to strengthen the company’s competitive positioning in both B2B and B2C channels. The ideal candidate has strong commercial acumen, deep understanding of industrial tools or hardware markets, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver business results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles—preferably in Power Tools, Industrial Equipment, Hardware, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market presence.
- Strong understanding of power tools industry dynamics, product categories, and customer segments.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems is an advantage.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to increase market share within the power tools industry.
- Identify new market segments, product opportunities, and channel expansion possibilities.
- Lead annual business planning, including forecasting, pricing strategies, and sales target setting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, contractors, and industrial partners.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, partnerships, and strategic collaborations.
- Evaluate and onboard potential channel partners while optimizing existing networks.
- Conduct market research to monitor trends, competitor activities, pricing movements, and customer needs.
- Provide insights to the product and marketing teams to support new product introduction (NPI).
- Track and report performance metrics to guide strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment on go‑to‑market strategies.
- Lead business development projects and initiatives, ensuring timely execution and measurable impact.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members when applicable.
- Work closely with key account customers to understand business requirements and propose tailored solutions.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to promote brand visibility.
