About the Role


Millari NZ is looking for an experienced Operations Manager who knows how to streamline production and improve operational efficiencies to ensure profitability and longevity. Your focus will be across sawmill, LVL, and plywood operations - improving processes, strengthening team capability, lifting performance and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency every day. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives on driving operational improvements while contributing to a positive workplace culture.


What We’re Looking For


  • 5–10+ years in operations or production management
  • Manufacturing, timber, forestry, or heavy industry experience
  • Leadership skills — builds rapport, accountability, develops high-performing teams
  • Proven ability to lift production efficiency and plant reliability
  • Confident with KPIs, planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement
  • Strong knowledge of NZ health & safety and environmental compliance

Key Responsibilities


  • Focus on sawmill, LVL, and plywood operational efficiencies
  • Improve production flow, cost control, and output
  • Contribute to the support and develop supervisors and production teams
  • Ensure quality standards, safe work practices, and plant reliability
  • Use data, KPIs, and reporting to inform decisions
  • Drive culture, communication, and continuous improvement
